WILT

What I’m Listening To: December 2020

2020 ended on an interesting note musically. I spent the majority of the time cycling between three albums: Taylor Swift’s evermore, Miley Cyrus’ Plastic Hearts, and the Promising Young Woman soundtrack. For a while, it seemed like my most-played was going to be exclusively tracks from those three, but, slowly, other songs found their way into the fold. We had the expected Christmas songs as well as those random new finds thru my other avenues. While my Spotify Wrapped was a lie (my current account was only started in September), I wasn’t that surprised by what it determined I enjoyed. Still, between Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, CDs, my iPod, and more, this was the finale on an interesting year.

Press play and crank the volume for the last WILT of 2020.

Perhaps, for 2021, we’ll have to have monthly criteria so each month doesn’t end up being the length of my Favorite Songs of the Year, but, for now, I really love finding new songs, albums, and playlists. Music just makes every moment feel that much sweeter. As if someone, somewhere is orchestrating the soundtrack to your life. I wonder what January will sound like. Until then, there’s always the classic “Auld Lang Syne.”
